OVERVIEW

The backcountry tour is a perfect mix of adventure and comfort that couples our incredible backcountry riding whilst sleeping at our main base and one night in a remote mountain Rifugio. This means amazing wilderness riding finishing by having a beer by our pool watching the sun set over the mountains!

The Alpi Apuane offers coastal rugged and epic riding above the sea and in the marble mountains. The Apennines give you ski lift access, rolling alpine meadows and skyline rides with breathtaking views. With both mountain ranges on our doorstep, you can expect both shuttle assisted and remote days out without van support starting directly from our main base.

THE RIDING

The riding in the Alpi Apuane and Apennines is incredibly diverse, from open fast flowing runs to steep rocky technical descents by the coast. You can expect to be climbing a minimum of 500m a day to up to 2000m if desired. Hike a bike, some pushing to get you to the endless descents is usually part of our backcountry adventure but can be taken away from the trip if preferred, it is totally up to you.

We are a natural riding location that capitalizes on the incredible high alpine network of ancient hiking paths, with the added bonus of our custom built rollercoaster rides that take you down to the valley.The tour is five days riding and one rest day in between.

ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD

The tour is an all-inclusive holiday, covering accommodation, breakfasts and evening meals (including unlimited Chianti at our main base!) at both the Rifugio and our main base. All the shuttling, guiding and transfers are also part of the package.

The Agriturismo accommodation is based on two riders sharing large mezzanine rooms, and the Rifugio is based on everyone in one large room with bunkbeds.

BIKE WORKSHOP AND STORAGE

At our main base, incorporated into the Agriturismo, we have built a fully private, lockable professional bike storage and maintenance garage. Everything you need to build and maintain your bike is available to you 24/7 with our full Park Tool set-up, air compressor and jet wash area.

For the tour the 4×4 will bring a mobile workshop to the Rifugio, along with all needed spare parts, ensuring you are all covered for the majority of mechanicals whilst in the remote locations.

SUPPORT

Our Agriturismo will be used throughout the week as our main base, but we will be spending the second night of the tour in a remote mountain Rifugio in the backcountry. Our 4×4 will take your kit there and back so you can ride light and focus on enjoying the trails.

We have the van and bike trailer at our disposal for the whole tour to support where needed.
