A TOTALLY NEW DEDICATED E-BIKE TRAIL NETWORK

As part of our fantastic collaboration with PayDirt, we have been working for the best part of the last two years to develop trails that are perfect for E-Biking. That means a focus on singletrack going up, and loops that are integrated into charging station lunch stops to make the most of battery life.

Our new trail network is focused on backcountry style riding in the high Apennine mountains in and around our main National Park. Here the riding is wild and remote, and we have every level of trail to suit beginners to the most advanced riders. We have also made sure to focus on fun loops on our Booze Mountain area, so we can stay closer to base and enjoy rollercoaster fast flowing trails all interconnected with new climbing singletracks.

For those taking advantage of hiring our dedicated Santa Cruz fleet for the entire group, we have the option of extending these tours even deeper into the backcountry and into an entirely different region all together with the use of pre-organsied battery drop-offs.

TWO DIFFERENT RIDING LOCATIONS

Besides our playground in the Apennines, we created an E-Bike specific trail network at our winter base in Calci, near Pisa. As part of the initial launch we did for the Heckler (see more below), the Ridgeline team and the locals of Calci spent around 3 months totally overhauling many of the existing trails to make them suitable for E-Bikes. Now, the hidden deep in the pine forests and undiscovered remote parts of Calci are waiting to be discovered.

With its own dedicated newly developed accommodation in the heart of the town above our partner’s LaStafetta Beer Brewery, it really is the perfect location for either a day trip or incorporated as a bolt on to your existing package.

PACKAGES AND BOLT ON’S

It is essentially possible to ride E-Bikes on 90% of our existing trail network that we use for our main operations. Only the most remote ‘hike-a-bike’ routes that we have call into question the suitability of E-Bikes. If you wish to join your friends on a regular holiday on your E-Bike then this is no problem, but the emphasis will be on descending trails.

We can organise a bolt on long weekend or day or two for those wishing to have a dedicated E-Bike experience incorporated into their regular riding holiday. This can be done by either hiring one of our Santa Cruz Hire E-Bikes, or by bringing your own.

Week-long packages are also available, and this will be a very dedicated package that we are happy to custom tune to the individual group.

The packages prices that we can offer vary greatly depending on a whole mix of variables. These include whether its a one day bolt on or week long dedicated trip. SANTA CRUZ HECKLER 9 MX

Danny MacAskill just doesn’t stop talking about riding ebikes. And when he’s riding he goes and goes and goes. Which is partly why we’ve made the Heckler go further, higher and faster. The Heckler has a huge interchangeable battery (720Wh), which allows riders to access previously unreachable trails, unlock less-used trails and cramming more into less time. The 150mm rear travel (with 160mm travel fork up front) of VPP™ suspension has been tuned to tame big trails on big descents and provide glue-like traction on the climbs.

The Heckler’s 720wh interchangeable battery allows riders to expand their own trail map – accessing previously unreachable trails, unlocking less-used trails and cramming more into less time.

29 and MX options: The full 29″ version feels more clam at speed and efficient across varied terrain. The mixed wheel version (29″ up front and 27.5″ in the rear) blends traction and quicker steering. Offering both means every rider can find a bike that matches their riding style.
